1. Talk about St. Matthew’s School to your co-workers, friends, neighbors, and relatives. Word of mouth advertising is the best.
2. U.S. Government Employees – Civil Service & Active Duty – The Combined Federal Campaign will be coming up in the Oct./Nov 2009 timeframe. Please designate St. Matthew’s School #76595 on your CFC donor form. That number is for both Norfolk and the Peninsula CFC’s. The CFC has contributed $7,000 a year to St. Matthew’s and we would like to hit $10,000 to help us replace our old 1987 bus.
3. If you shop at TARGET, FOOD LION, OFFICE DEPOT, and/or HARRIS TEETER, please make sure your Target card is linked to school #16590, and relink your VIP card to St. Matthew’s School. A Food Lion MVP form is attached to this flyer so you can fill it out and return it to the main office. Your MVP number is 12 digits. Please make sure you include the very small numbers to the left and right of the main 10 numbers. We will link your card for you. At Office Depot ask for the “5% Back to School” to be credited to SMS. Please tell relatives about these programs and ask them to designate SMS.
4. Clip Box Tops for Education, Save Your Farm Fresh Receipts and Collect Campbell Soup Labels! – There are collection containers in the hall by the Teacher’s Lounge.
5. Do you eat Tyson Chicken ? We hope so because Tyson Chicken’s Project A+ will pay us $.24 for every Project A+ label you send in - up to 41,000 labels!! Please send the labels in an envelope or zip lock bag with your child’s name and room number. Each month we will award an ice cream pass to the student who sent in the most labels that month. Our goal is to raise $1,000 for the Adopt-A-Student project.
6. Are You A Match? Many businesses will do a company match for employees who donate money or volunteer their time to non-profit organizations. St. Matthew’s School is a non-profit entity. Please check with your employer if they have a matching program. If they do, please let us know what we need to do to help you participate in that program.
