Volunteer
Opportunities
This page lists many of the possible opportunities you
have for investing your time and energy in your most precious commodity - your children
and their education. As you should recall, you signed a contract to contribute 25 hours of
volunteer time. Your time will be well spent in assuring the success of the many
educational, administrative, and financial programs that culminate in the quality programs
that we offer at St. Matthew's School.
Parents/guardians who are not available during school hours
can still earn service hours by such activities as sending in baked goods/food/party
supplies, working basketball games on weekends, coaching, assisting with maintenance
activities at the school, and working on special projects that may be sent home. Even the
purchase of Matthews Money earns service hours.
How Do I get Involved?
Choose the areas of volunteer opportunities in
which you are most interested. Descriptions and listings on this page should help you
select your favorite activities.
Click
here to print and fill out a checklist specifying activities that are of interest to
you. Should you have a special skill that you wish to share with SMS, feel free to write
it in on the space provided on the form. Then submit your completed form to the office.
These forms are designed to serve two
purposes. First, the forms will be filed in the office and provide a bank of names from
which those who are coordinating events/projects can draw. Second, the forms will
hopefully serve to make you more aware of the thousands of volunteer hours and
opportunities that are available to you throughout the school year.
While efforts are made to contact
parents/guardians for service hours, it is the ultimate responsibility of the
parent/guardian to fulfill the 25-hour service commitment. Please don't hesitate to call
and volunteer at any time.
This list is intended to serve as a
guide for all the opportunities that are available at St. Matthew's. It may not be
all-inclusive. Should you have additional ideas or talents, please feel free to write them
in on the volunteer form. Thank you very much for supporting SMS Volunteer Program and
your child.
