class? |
| Age-appropriate
lessons and activities, plus browsing time. |
PK and K children
hear books read, interact with puppets, manipulatives, and humans, and
learn book skills. Readers learn parts of books, authors, keywords.
Older readers develop literature and research skills (grades are given). |
| How many books may my child or
I check out? |
| PK-2, one;
3-8, two; parents, five. |
Preschoolers keep
books in the classroom. Kindergartners may do puzzles or color if
they have not returned their book. First graders are urged to choose
Easy Readers monthly. Students may go "over limit" with reports, etc.
Overdue notices come out approximately quarterly. |
| Are there non-book materials
to borrow? |
| Only magazines
at this time. |
However, with
more space in the coming media center, we hope to offer the loan of books-on-tape
or -CD. Our video/DVD collection is reserved for the teachers' use. |
| What are the Library's hours? |
| Basically
8 a.m. - 4 p.m. |
Library doors
open at 8 a.m. Mrs. Z. has a hallway duty until approx. 8:15, then
she goes around to collect book returns from scheduled classes. In
the afternoon she has bus duty from 3:07-3:20. Book Fairs usually
run 8 am to 4 pm also. |
